JON STONE

Jon grew up captivated by the ‘movie magic’ of cinema special effects and thanks to the work of Mr Spielberg, a fear of sharks. In a bid to conquer this he took up diving whilst travelling in South East Asia and qualified as a dive instructor.

Combining his passion of diving and videography, he set up an underwater film company, providing promotional videos and specialist courses to dive centres all over Europe.

On returning to the UK, Jon produced corporate videos for a wide range of clients before coming on board with Spot Reels in 2010.

Jon now lives in sunny Frinton-on-Sea where he prefers to stay out of the water. His favourite film is Robocop.

JOHN DYER

After managing to survive life as a teacher for several years, John spent the next ten years working in the film industry for the British Board of Film Classification. As one of the team of Examiners there, he got to indulge his passion for film and the moving image before going on to run the Board’s Education programme.

Part of that role involved the production of various video resources, triggering an interest in video-making that would later spark the creation of Spot Reels in 2009. Over ten years later, he’s extremely proud of the hundreds of videos he’s helped the company produce for many happy clients.

John’s love of film and video-creation remains undiminished and he routinely escapes to the cinema whenever the opportunity presents itself.
